Like the old saying goes , “Eat, Breakfast like a King , Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper “, and let me tell you our ancestors were really wise since current studies shows that breakfast should be one of the heaviest and energizing meal of the day . By the word “heavy” I don’t by any means saying to have a “rich and fattening ” meal but rather something which is high in nutrients and is filling .So here are some delicious yet healthy breakfast ideas.

Nothing says “good morning” like a warm bowl of oatmeal. Whether slowly cooked and creamy or blended with fresh fruit in a smoothie, oats provide your body with many benefits. If you’re not eating oatmeal for breakfast, you’re missing out on a delicious way to add fiber and nutrients to your body first thing in the morning

.Oats have several benefits like 1. They are Whole Grain.

2 They help in Lowering  Cholesterol levels naturally .

3.They help in Lowering Body fat and helps you Slim Down , since they are high in fiber content and very low in fat they keep you full longer without adding extra calories !

How To Battle INSOMNIA Without Any Drug

Hey There !

How are you all doing ? I am back again with another post for you all and today I will be talking about , How to tackle Insomnia naturally and will explore few tips to get better sleep naturally without the use of any drug .

What Is INSOMNIA ?

Answer- Insomnia is defined as , Chronic inability to fall asleep or remain asleep for an adequate length of time.

In today’s hectic and very stressful lifestyle we all end up in loosing some sleep from time to time . Plus the obsessive usage of laptops and smart phones in the bed just before sleeping is another added reason for a restless or even inability to fall  asleep quickly despite being  tired and exhausted . But having a good and sound sleep during the night can make a whole lot of difference next day , it makes you feel more energetic and optimistic as well . A good night’s sleep makes a whole lot of a difference to your mood and not to mention your “WAISTLINE” ! YES , its true , that sleeping for less than 6 hours can make you pack on pounds and inches ! Sleeping insufficiently makes you FAT as a result of adverse effects on hormones that regulate appetite,!Lack of sleep also  increases the risk for high blood pressure and depression  .

So , following are the tips to help you sleep better that will make you FEEL better and you can kiss goodbye to those damn sheaps ! 😉

TIP 1 – CURB CAFFEINE – Caffeine affects people differently. If you find that you’re sensitive and it’s keeping you up at night, you’d do best to cut back or limit it to the morning only (and if you still are having trouble sleeping, try cutting it out altogether). Caffeine may also impair sleep more as you get older, according to research in Sleep Medicine. AVOID- Tea, Coffee , Soda and even Chocolate !

TIP 2- AVOID ALCOHOL –  It’s true that a drink (or two) can make you sleepy and may help you get to sleep. But after a few hours, alcohol can cause frequent awakenings and lighter, less restful sleep. I’m not saying you need to give up alcohol, but don’t use it like a sleeping pill; and if you have insomnia, I strongly recommend omitting alcohol for a few weeks to see if your sleep problem resolves.

TIP 3- AVOID LARGE MEALS – Eating a huge dinner, or even a large before-bedtime snack, may make you feel drowsy, but the sleep won’t necessarily take. When you lie down and try to sleep, there’s a good chance you’ll feel uncomfortably full, which can keep you awake. Even worse, you may develop heartburn or gas, which will only increase your discomfort. I recommend eating a dinner that has no more than 600 calories (and optimally at least three hours before bed).

TIP 4 – FIX A ” BED-TIME” – Yes , Bed-Time are not just for kids ! :p  Like any other important activity in your life , you should fix a particular time as your ‘Sleep Time” and be in bed by then ! This will help your body to fall in a routine and your body’s “Natural Circadian cycle ” or Body Clock will get set accordingly , thus helping you fall asleep at the decided fix time .

TIP 5- NO GADGETS IN BED ! – Yes it very important not to bring your laptops , phones or Ipads to bed .Avoid using them for at least half an hour or an hour before your “Bed Time” . This will help in calming your mind and freeing it from distractions .

TIP 6- TRY A GLASS OF TART CHERRY JUICE – In a small study, melatonin(SLEEP HORMONE) -rich tart cherry juice was shown to aid sleep. When adults with chronic insomnia drank a cup of tart cherry juice twice a day they experienced some relief in the severity of their insomnia.

TIP 7 – TRY A GLASS OF WARM MILK – Dairy products like yogurt and milk boast healthy doses of calcium—and there’s research that suggests being calcium-deficient may make it difficult to fall asleep.

TIP 8 – EAT MORE OF WHOLE GRAINS – Bulgur, barley and other whole grains are rick in magnesium—and consuming too little magnesium may make it harder to stay asleep, reported theJournal of Orthomolecular Medicine.

TIP 9- EAT MORE BANANAS ! – Bananas, well-known for being rich in potassium, are also a good source of Vitamin B6, which is needed to make melatonin (a sleep-inducing hormone triggered by darkness), according to an article published in theAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences .

  • Park at the far end of every parking lot.
  • Take short walks during work breaks.
  • Stand up and walk in place during TV commercials.
  • Walk the dog every day.

Top 10 Worst Crazy Fad Diets ! “How NOT to Lose Weight ”

Happy Saturday friends ! How are you doing today ? I hope that you are doing great !

Today I have got a very funny yet informative post about diet that you should NEVER and I really mean NEVER  try ! Its more of information about how people can get so desperate to loose weight fast that they get blinded by all the dangerous side effects which they bring on themselves by doing these crazy diets ! I KNOW that at times loosing weight can be a slow and tedious process and we all have tries some ‘QUICK-FIX’ (lip seal) from time to time , but few people took it some crazy extreme and came up with these crazy “diets” , I am not even sure if we can call them ‘DIET” because few of them really are about inedible foods like”Cotton Ball diet”.

So this post is strictly for an “Entertainment Purpose” only to show the crazy extreme some people took the weight loss journey to , and its also a reminder about “Not To Lose your Sanity ” on the way to your “Body Makeover ” or “Fitness Journey ” , to be patient and persistent with yourself and your body ! 

Let’s get on with the crazy diets now ! 😀 –

1. CRAZY DIET 1  -H.C.G Diet

In the 1950s, a British physician, A.T.W. Simeons, suggested that adhering to a 500-calorie-a-day diet and getting daily injections of the hormone, human choriogonadotropin (hCG), which is produced in early pregnancy, would promote weight loss. 

Ohh my God , this doctor went cuckooo ! Because , HCG can cause some serious trouble when administered casually .

SIDE EFFECTS -HCG in some people,  can be dangerous, causing blood clots, depression, and headaches . And not to mention taking just 500 calories is some serious starvation which prevents Fat-Loss .

2. CRAZY DIET 2- BABY FOOD DIET

This Hollywood diet fad works by substituting BABY FOOD for two, possibly three, adult meals a day. You will lose weight because you’re restricting calories. But you’ll lose a lot of what adults enjoy about food — fiber, taste, and crunch. Baby food may be pure and high in vitamins, but it’s not appropriate in terms of adult nutrition, besides you will miss on all the “NORMAL” food and binge later on and the fat will come back with some serious VENGEANCE this time after the binges !

3.CRAZY DIET 3- THE CIGARETTE DIET / DEATH STICK DIET

This has to be one of the most harmful diet fads ever ! If you light up rather than eat, you could see some weight loss — cigarettes have no calories and NICOTINE  is a stimulant. But smoking is the cause of many deadly medical conditions including heart disease and lung cancer. In the 1920s, cigarette manufacturers promoted their weight-loss benefits, but that was long before the dangers of smoking were recognized. “Never start a habit as harmful as smoking to lose weight , Because its far better to LIVE with few extra pounds than to DIE , thin of Cancer or heart attack ! Besides lemme tell you , no body likes the “yellow smoker teeth ” and the disgusting “smoker breath ” ! If you smoke then do yourself and your family a huge favor and quit the use of cigarette or the “death stick” .

4.CRAZY DIET 4 – AOQILI DIET SOAP DIET

Aoqili diet soaps made of seaweed and aloe vera are supposed to not only smooth the skin, but also wash away the fat that lies beneath. Similar to detoxifying seaweed body wraps, aoqili soaps have been used for thousands of years in the east Asian countries. They may make your skin look smoother and softer, but they won’t help you achieve WEIGHT LOSS . Imagine the harmful chemicals and perfumes in the soap ! I mean you wash your skin with soap , do you really ever want to eat a foaming soap ? I really really hope that you don’t !

This diet advocates sleeping 24/7 for weight loss. You might be tired because you’re starved, but if you sedate yourself to be able to sleep that much, you’re putting yourself in real danger . Elvis Presley apparently was a devotee of this diet fad. “There is some scientific research to support the idea that lack of sleep, can contribute to excess weight and obesity but that does not mean that you drug yourself to sleep for 24 or 48 hours ! Having a healthy 7 to 8 hours of sleep works the best ! So , No, Thank You ! 

6.CRAZY DIET 6 – THE CHEWING DIET

This diet fad is attributed to Horace Fletcher, who sold art in San Francisco in the early 1900s. He advocated chewing incessantly, until the food was purified, and then spitting out what remained. He supposedly had many fans, including novelist Henry James, industrialist John D. Rockefeller, and cereal mogul John Harvey Kellogg. Imagine spitting the mushy food out after every bite ? Yikkeess ! 

its a good idea to slowly and mindfully chew every food bite to feel fuller quickly but spitting the food out is not a healthy way , after all you do need calories to function .

7.CRAZY DIET 7 – THE VISION DIET

If it does not look appealing, will you leave it on your plate? That’s the idea behind this craziest of diet fads. Wear blue-tinted glasses, and everything you plan to eat looks disgusting. The most likely outcome: You’ll still eat whatever you want and you could hurt your eyes from wearing the tinted specs for too long. Again, Thanks but No Thanks ! Having a healthy eye sight is very important .

8.CRAZY DIET 8 – THE TWINKIES DIET

A bakery manager invented Twinkies in the 1930s, but the diet fad’s origins are unknown. Twinkies have 150 calories each. Eat nothing but Twinkies and you could lose weight. It works , because even if you eat 10, that’s only 1,500 calories a day. “You’ll also get mighty tired of it fast. It’s similar to the nothing-but-chocolate diet. You can lose weight because after the first day or two you’re not that interested in eating CHOCOLATE .” And you’re depriving your body of essential nutrients.Highly unhealthy , ingesting all the cream and sugar . Think HEALTH ! 

9.CRAZY DIET 9 – THE TAPEWORM DIET

The tapeworm diet is a draconian way of losing weight,” March says. A tapeworm is a parasite. You can get tapeworms unintentionally from under cooked,contaminated meat , especially pork. Untreated, a tapeworm infestation can be lethal. In the 1900s, hucksters sold pills that supposedly contained tapeworms that would eat the food in your stomach. It’s absolutely inadvisable to infect yourself with something that could be dangerous to you. Importing or selling tapeworms is illegal in the United States.Please stay away from such madness .

10.CRAZY DIET 10- THE COTTON BALL DIET

For this diet, you eat cotton balls before meals. The idea is that they fill your stomach so you’re not hungry and don’t eat too much. “But it’s like eating paper,” dismissing this weight-loss plan with one word: “Nonsensical”. Cotton balls have no nutritional value and could damage your digestive tract . “Have some sugar-free gelatin or drink a big glass of water before eating instead.” Both are better ways of reminding yourself you could feel fuller with less food.

These are all just a reminder about “HOW NOT TO LOOSE FAT” , you don’t want to go Cuckoo over weight loss , right ? Its more important to maintain a healthy body and not to mention your sanity ! So treat this post as humorous take on the severe extremes people have taken to in order to  loose weight , but let me remind you that all you need is – 1.Eating clean and healthy , AND 2.Regular exercising . It might be slow in the beginning , but totally worth it in the end ! If it was so very easy then everybody on this planet earth with be fit and strong .
